THE BIG SLEEPOUT
The Big Sleepout is coming to Christchurch & Blenheim
The Big Sleepout began in Auckland and has grown into one of New Zealand’s most impactful empathy driven fundraising events. Participants give up their beds for one night, sleeping on cardboard in a central city location, while raising funds to support homelessness services.
On 13 August 2026, CMM will host the first Big Sleepout in Christchurch and Blenheim, joining the national movement that challenges business and community leaders to spend a night outside on one of the coldest nights of winter.
Civic is proud to be partnering with the Marlborough Primary Health Organisation to support people in our community experiencing homelessness. Every donation, no matter the size, will help make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most. Together, we can show the power of community and compassion.
