Our protocol

Repeat prescriptions for some medication may be obtained without making an appointment to see your doctor, but this is always at the doctor’s discretion. The final decision is up to your doctor, so you may be asked to attend for a consultation.

We do not provide repeats without an appointment if it is 6 months or more since you were last seen or if your medication was changed at your last visit.

Unless by prior arrangement, you will need to see your doctor for repeat prescriptions every three months if you take three or more long term medications.

If you are a new patient or have not previously been given your medication regularly by Civic Family Health Care you must be seen first. Appointments for unrelated issues such as ACC etc do not suffice as a medication review.

Ordering a repeat prescription; three easy ways!

Turnaround Time

Standard Script/MYINDICI: Please allow 3/three working days for collection, from the time you request a prescription, either online, written or by phone.

Urgent/Same Day Script: If an Urgent Same Day script is requested before 2pm, the prescription will be completed by the end of the day (after 5pm). If your request is made after 2pm, it will be ready by the following working day.

Please note: If your doctor is away, requests for controlled drugs or complicated scripts may not be able to be completed by the relieving GP (locum). You may be required to come in for an appointment to have this medication prescribed and this will be charged as a normal consultation fee.
