We hope you and your Whānau are doing well. We’ve had a few gorgeous sunshine days lately, but with a slight winter chill still in the air. The Daffodils are blooming with the indication that spring is nearly here.
This is just a quick update, as we like to do every now and again, as to what’s happening here at the practice.
Exciting News and How you can help….
We are changing our computer system and the Civic Team is very excited. With new technology there is lots to learn and change so please be patient with us.
Our Go-Live day is the 28th August and as our Mondays are very busy, this will be a baptism of fire. We are hoping the training we are having now will have us hitting the ground running. We will have Indici staff here to help us out for the first week to try and mitigate any big issues.
Thank you for your understanding at this time. Our Team will be doing the best they can and it won’t be long before we are business as usual and we will be enjoying all the aspects of the new system that will help us work smarter.
Manage My Health to MyIndici
With the change to a new system we will also be changing our Patient Portal.
For those patients already on Manage My Health, you will be notified by email of the change over to MyIndici with a link to register.
MyIndici is similar to Manage My Health where you can book appointments, request prescriptions, email your GP, see your notes, etc. It also has a handy function to synchronize wearables to your MyIndici app to keep track of your Health & Fitness goals and have them available when seeing your GP. It will look slightly different and hopefully work slightly smarter.
Masks
Yahoo! The Government changed the legislation and we no longer have to wear Masks BUT…….
We still want to keep everyone safe so:
We will still be running our respiratory patient clinics outside of the Practice in the Front Foyer – Consult Room 10.
Any patients with a cough, cold or flu-like symptoms will be asked to wear a Mask please.
Please do not be offended if we ask if you have symptoms and that you put a mask on. Masks are worn to protect those around you.
We have vulnerable patients in our Practice and we want to keep them safe.
Some of our staff will still wear masks to keep everyone safe.
These precautions are for all respiratory symptoms and not just Covid. There are some nasty virus’s about.
Wearing a mask will help to protect our staff so they can help you.
Thank you for your understanding. We have worn masks for a long time and are happy to be free but also weary as the masks have kept our Team safe. No team member has caught Covid from Civic during this time and we are very Proud of that and thank you for your help.
Doctor News
Just a quick update regarding doctors. Some of our doctors are taking extended leave this year. We will still be providing great service, but it may have to be with another Doctor if yours is away.
We welcome back Dr Alex Dunn & Dr Henry McKee from their leave.
Dr Rhondda Turner is currently away until the beginning of October. We are fortunate to have Dr Sophie Hart working with us over September to help out while Rhondda is away.
Dr Emily Marfell will be away from end of October to the beginning December.
Dr Bonnie Zijsling is returning soon and we excited to have her back in the near future.
We also have Dr Sadaf Intikhab who is a PGY2 House Officer on a Community Placement with us for a few months. Lots of learning for us and her hoping to develop a new GP Doctor in Marlborough.
Sadly we are saying goodbye to Dr Lynsey Cockerill in December. She has been a great addition to Civic and we are sad to see her go, but we wish her all the best with her future endeavors and are grateful for the time she spent with Civic. All the best Lynsey!
